February 2008:

Pruning is going on: once he starts, André does not stop easily! He choses, alone, each wood that will carry the next crop.
Pruning is fundamental for the coming season, but also for the future of the vine plant: we must especially be careful to avoid big pruning wounds and to keep the trunk low.

Some old plots (30 year-old) won a lifting this month: brand new posts, that will last for the next 30 years!
The negative temperatures that we had mid-february allowed us to do it without compacting the soil.

I should precise that we still use wooden posts, often replaced by galvanized steel. But wood has advantages and gives also a "natural" view to the vineyard.
